Digitalraum Main-Donau-Moldau

Regionally rooted and digitally networked – that is the vision for a smart district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab. NEW wants to rethink rural life and use digitalisation as a tool to achieve this. The district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab has already successfully implemented a number of projects in rural areas and gained experience in this area. As a founding member, we want to contribute this expertise and view from a municipal perspective and develop and implement new projects together.

Prof. Dr. Wolfgang DÖRNER

Professor of Computer Science of Spatial Systems and Head of the Institute for Applied Computer Science at the Technical University of Deggendorf.

“I am a founding member of the association because the many small municipalities and smart regions in particular need a lobby and visibility. From 15 years of founding and establishing a technology research institute in the Bay. Forest, I know that technology and rural areas can indeed be considered together. However, a rethink is needed and adopting established concepts from urban centres does not work.”

– Wolfgang Dörner

Jan WEILER

Expert for Sustainable Change (M.Sc.) and project manager at Es Geht! Energiesysteme GmbH.

Šárka KUTHANOVA

Interpreter and coordinator for German-Czech cooperation at Es Geht! Energiesysteme GmbH and lecturer at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen.
